Range Rover Sport 2.0 petrol Interior

Getting into the Range Rover Sport is easy thanks to the adjustable air suspension. Our test car featured an all black interior. There are soft touch surfaces everywhere and everything feels built to last. There is nothing new in here, that is different from the Sport we reviewed earlier. The highlight of the cabin is of course the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system. The upper screen is used for various functions like media, navigation etc. and the angle of the screen can be adjusted for convenience. The lower screen is for the climate control and off-road modes, and also features slick circular knobs to adjust the temperature. The infotainment system now features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. And as we mentioned in our last review, the graphics of the system are spectacular. The digital instrument cluster is pleasing to the eyes and the touch pads on the steering wheel look swell. The optional panoramic sunroof that features on our test car gave a very airy feel to the cabin. However, the placement of the power window buttons still feels ergonomically weird. Also the door latch is placed too low for our liking.

As with all Range Rovers, the front seats are like thrones and super comfortable. While they do come with electric adjust, our test car didn’t have the memory function. Rear passengers also have loads of space with excellent headroom and legroom. The protruding rear centre console could spoil the party for the middle passenger though.

Range Rover Sport 2.0 petrol Verdict

I have to admit that before I took to the wheel, I had my doubt about the capability of the 2.0 petrol engine in this behemoth SUV, but boy have I been proved wrong. Power feels adequate and performance wise it isnt a slouch either. Be it the highway or the city, this motor will keep you happy. And its refined too. Other high points of the Range Rover Sport like luxurious interior and off-road capabilities remain. Prices for the Rover Sport start at Rs. 86.71 lakh ex showroom and this SE variant retails at Rs. 94.49 lakh. At that price, it isn’t cheap by any means and we wish some equipment like memory seats, electric steering adjust and panoramic roof would be standard rather than on the options list. That being said, it is more than Rs. 20 lakh cheaper than its V6 diesel and V6 petrol powered variants. With that in mind, the Range Rover Sport 2.0 petrol feels like a tempting package and worth considering if you want to join the Range Rover club.
