bmw-320d-msport-12The current BMW 3 Series has been on our shores for quite a while now. The car has always had the reputation to be a true sports sedan which pleases the enthusiast but at the same is also loved by the typical entry level luxury car buyer. While the next generation 3 Series is still some time away, BMW gave its popular model a facelift earlier this year. Apart from a few cosmetic changes, the car also gets an updated diesel engine. The lineup also gets an additional M-Sport variant, which is the car that you see in these pictures. Here’s a closer look at what the BMW 320d M-Sport is all about.bmw-320d-msport-14 bmw-320d-msport-16Changes are not apparent immediately when you look at the car. The trademark BMW kidney grille is flanked by new all LED headlamps. The rear features L shaped LED tail lamps. There are minor styling updates to the front and rear bumpers as well. The M- Sport package that is our test car is equipped with features M badges on the front fenders, sportier bumpers and 18 inch star spoke style alloy wheels. The M-Sport variant also gets an exclusive Estoril Blue paint shade that is not available for the other trim levels. However our test car came finished in subtle yet sporty Alpine White.bmw-320d-msport-01 bmw-320d-msport-02 bmw-320d-msport-04There is nothing much different on the interior front either. The cabin is what you would expect in a machine from the Bavarian maker. Quality and fit and finish feels nicer than before though.  The dual tone upholstery and dashboard give a very air feel to the cabin. There are a couple of cup holders up front and the centre console also gets some chrome bits.  There is an 8.7 inch screen for the iDrive infotainment system, which comes with touch and handwriting recognition. The M-Sport features a sporty three spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters mounted at the rear. It really feels nice to hold and one of the nicest steering wheels we have seen. The M-Sport also comes with colour HUD display and sports seats. The sports seats are very comfortable and get electric adjust and an extendable seat base. The driver gets memory function as well. The rear seats are low but once you get in, they provide good comfort. There is good headroom and legroom for the rear occupants. There’s nothing to complain about under thigh support either. The rear windows get manually operating sun blinds while the rear windshield features an electrically operating sun blind. Other features include a 205 watt 9 speaker sound system, electric sunroof and front and rear parking sensors. A rear camera is missed and BMW should have offered it as standard at least on this M-Sport version.bmw-320d-msport-09 bmw-320d-msport-05 bmw-320d-msport-11 bmw-320d-msport-06Continued…
