It was presented to the public at an event at the Silverstone circuit, where the team is based. The car will be powered by a Mercedes engine.

As was the case with the previous three F1 cars unveiled so far this year, the VJM10 features a thumb-tip nose – more extreme than the ones seen so far – and a shark fin, as well as the significantly different front and rear wings that will be used this year, when new aero regulations come into play. The car also retains its traditional livery. f1-sahara-force-india-f1-vjm10-launch-2017-sahara-force-india-f1-vjm10 (1) f1-sahara-force-india-f1-vjm10-launch-2017-sahara-force-india-f1-vjm10-front-wingForce India enjoyed its strongest season to date in 2016, when it finished in fourth place in the constructors’ championship with 173 points scored, beating the likes of Williams and McLaren in the process.

The team has retained Sergio Perez for the fourth year in a row, but the Mexican will be partnered by Esteban Ocon this season. Ocon joins Force India in place of Nico Hulkenberg, who decided to leave the Silverstone-based outfit to lead Renault’s challenge.

Frenchman Ocon, a member of the Mercedes junior programme, competed in the last nine races of the 2016 season with the now-defunct Manor Racing team.
