The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza petrol has made its debut at the Auto Expo 2020. The Brezza that earlier came only in diesel form has made the switch to petrol as the car maker has decided to discontinue diesel models from April 2020.

The Vitara Brezza petrol is powered by the 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that develops 105 hp and 138 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard and a 4 speed torque converter automatic is also offered. Suzuki’s SHVS Smart Hybrid tech is also available but only on the automatic version.

Apart from the new engine, the Vitara Brezza also gets some styling updates. There is a new front grille with chrome elements, the chin is wider than before, and there are new projector headlamps with new design DRLS. There are larger fog lamp housings in the restyled front bumper and a scuff plate as well. There are new design alloy wheels and apart from that, there are no changes to the side. The rear has a very refreshed look with new elements in the tail lamps and a new rear bumper. There  are three new dual-tone colour options: Sizzling Red with Midnight Black roof, Torque Blue with Midnight Black roof and Granite Grey with Autumn Orange roof.

On the interior, the updated Vitara Brezza gets the new SmartPlay Studio 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control. Auto wipers are also now part of the feature list.

Prices for the petrol Vitara Brezza will be revealed at a later late. However, it is important to note that the  1.5 litre petrol engine wont let the Brezza qualify for excise duty benefits for sub four metre vehicles and 1200cc petrol engines.
