New Audi A4 testing in old A4 body in India

It is a known fact that Audi is currently testing its new models in India. This test car was spotted doing runs on the Western Express Highway in Mumbai.

While at first glance we thought it was just an old A4, what caught our eye was the ‘quattro’ badging on the boot along with a TDI badge as well. A peek inside while car was in motion revealed a free standing MMI screen and all new interior. Getting in touch with our sources indeed confirmed that it is the new A4 testing under an old A4’s body. Take a closer look at the front and you will notice two hinges on the bonnet as well. The rear also had a giant tow hook attached to the rear bumper.

What is interesting is that this mule is a 2.0 litre TDI quattro variant. Audi had offered the quattro only with the 3.0 TDI variant in India once upon a time. Whether a 2.0 litre diesel quattro makes it to our shores remains to be seen.
