Skoda Kodiaq L&K Engine & Performance

Mechanically there are no changes to Kodiaq L&K. Power comes from a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo diesel engine that makes 150 horsepower. Refinement levels are good but the motor does tend to get noisy when accelerating hard at lower rpms. Power delivery is very linear and perfect as a daily driver, but nothing that will ignite the enthusiast in you. The shifts from the 7 speed DSG are smooth and driving in the city is a breeze. On the highway you do feel the need for more power though. Offering the Superb’s 177 hp tune would have been fantastic.

The suspension set up lends the Kodiaq a comfortable ride and the SUV feels very planted at high speeds as well. It’s only at low speeds that you feel the sharp undulations filter into the cabin. The 4×4 system is good enough to handle mild off-roading terrain and grip levels are good. However, asking the Kodiaq to go hardcore off the road is out of its comfort zone. It is more suited for on road driving than off it.
