What I don’t like in the Yaris is the touch screen infotainment unit. In the times of slick and new age systems that we have in cars these days, the one in the Yaris looks outdated and feels like its been fitted from your friendly neighbourhood aftermarket accessory store. The graphics aren’t that great and there is a lag is response too. It also hung twice while trying to answer calls. And there’s no Apple CarPlay and Android Auto either, which are part of the standard equipment norm in this age of smart phones.

No complaints on the fuel efficiency though. The Yaris has been returning an average of 10.4 kpl in city driving that includes slow moving traffic situations. I am yet to take it on a highway drive but plan to do so in the coming days.

I wasn’t a big fan of the Toyota Yaris when I drove it for our official review but after driving it for over 500 kms over the past couple of weeks, my opinion has changed. It is no nonsense, sensible and extremely fuss free. It comes with a lot of features and ticks all the right boxes for a daily driving city car. A fact also endorsed by my family. Looking forward to munching more miles with the ‘Mr. Reliable’ Toyota as part of its long term stint with us. Signing off till the next report.
