The guys at Jaguar Land Rover’s SVO division are back in the news again. Say hello to the new Jaguar F-Pace SVR. The SVO treatment has just given this Leaping Cat one heck of a sting in its tail. So what do we have here?

Th F-Pace SVR packs the now famous 5.0 litre V8 engine that puts out 550 supercharged horses and 680 Nm of twisting torque. The sprint from 0 to 100 kph is done in 4.3 seconds going on to a top speed of 283 kph.  It gets upgraded brakes with 395mm front and 396mm rear brake discs. The brake discs feature an advanced two piece construction on the front and rear to reduce weight. The updated chassis has progressive front and rear springs that are 30 and 10 per cent stiffer respectively and incorporate an anti-roll bar specification that contributes to a 5% reduction in body roll.

How does it sound? Well with the Variable Valve Active Exhaust System, we are sure it will be one heck of a sound track. The SVR exhaust is also 6.6 kg lighter than the standard F-Pace exhaust.

Other features include torque on-demand All-Wheel Drive system’s whose Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) control technology has been optimised to maximise the benefit of the EAD, while the software for the Adaptive Dynamics suspension, Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) and Dynamic Driving Mode are all unique to SVR.

On the exterior, the F-Pace SVR features restyled frot and rear bumpers with large air intakes. There is an SVR logo on the front grille. It gets an SVR bonnet with vents to extract hot air from the engine bay and quad exhaust pipes. The SUV is shod with 21 inch forged alloy wheels as standard and optional 22 inch alloys are also on offer. The wheels are wide at the rear by 25 mm and the 22 inch wheels are 2.4kg lighter on the front and 1.7kg lighter on the rear

Inside, the F-Pace SVR gets sports performance seats that feature signature lozenge quilting and embossed SVR logo. The rear seats are also sculpted in tune with the SVR’s character. The steering wheel features the SVR logo and paddle shifters. Other features include 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, 4G Wifi for upto 8 devices, 10 inch screen for the Touch Pro infotainment system and 650 litre boot space. Four interior colour themes include Red with Jet, Light Oyster with Jet, Siena Tan with Jet and Jet with Light Oyster stitching.
