Mercedes-benz has unveiled the new 2018 CLS at the LA Auto Show 2017. This is third generation of the stylish coupe.

The new CLS shares its platform with the E-Class. It is longer, wider and taller then before. It has a longer wheelbase at 2988 mm, an addition of 61 mm. It gets a centre rear seat and boot space of 520 litres. The rear seats falls down in a 40:20:40 split. Standard features of the CLS include include LED High Performance headlamps, 18‑inch light-alloy wheels with staggered tyre setup, Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist, a 12.3‑inch media display, ambience lighting including illuminated air vents, Mercedes me connect services and a communication module with LTE.

The optional ENERGIZING comfort control uses the functions of the climate control system (including fragrancing) and the seats (heater, ventilation, massage), the surface and steering wheel heating as well as lighting and musical atmospheres, and allows a specific wellness set-up tailored to the mood and need of the customer.  The new CLS range has six models: CLS350, CLS450, CLS300d, CLS350d, CLS400d and the AMG CLS 53

The six cylinder petrol and diesel engines will be mated to a nine speed automatic gearbox. A foure cylinder motor is expected at a later date. The AMG 53 will the range topping model that will be powered a a 3.0 litre straight six cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid technology.

The new Mercedes CLS will launch in India next year.
