2019 Mahindra Alturas G4 Interior

The Alturas G4 comes with keyless entry and can be unlocked via a request sensor on the door handle. The driver’s seat automatically moves backward for easy ingress and egress. However, you literally have to climb inside and that can be a problem for senior citizens. Mahindra says that a side step is part of the accessory list but it really should have been standard. Once inside, you immediately notice how premium the cabin feels. The dashboard has a two tone finish with leather and is very tastefully done. The leather wrapped steering wheel feels nice to hold and has nice contrast stitching The steering mounted controls reek of quality and are nice to touch and feel.  The steering also gets tilt and telescopic adjust. The instrument cluster has a 7 inch TFT display with lots of settings to play with, including three themes for the digital speedo display.  The AC vents have brushed aluminum borders and the centre console layout looks similar to that of the previous gen Mercedes ML and GL Class. The switches and buttons have a brush aluminum finish as well and feel very plush.  The power window and memory function switches too are of excellent fit and finish. The area around the gear stick is finished in piano black. The seats and door pads get quilted Nappa leather upholstery. The tan leather really adds a plush feeling to the cabin. The Alturas G4 gets an 8 inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is pretty slick to use and the graphics are clean. The Dual zone climate control cools the cabin nicely and the there are AC vents for the third row as well. The 6 speaker sound system has good quality and an electric sunroof is also part of the equipment list. However there some negatives like the hard touch plastics on the upper part of the door pads, and the switch for the sunroof feels cheap along with the surrounding area which comprises of a sunglass holder.

As mentioned above, the seats come with Nappa leather upholstery. The front seats are large and very comfortable. The driver’s seat comes with 8 way electric adjust and memory function as well. The co-driver seat however misses out on electric adjust. For the segment the Alturas G4 is fighting in, this could have been standard. However, on the plus side, the front seats are ventilated and cooling levels are fantastic. The middle row passengers have adequate legroom and headroom. The back rests of the second row can be reclined as well. The third row is best for kids or for medium sized adults for short duration drive. Both, the second and third row seats can be flipped forward for more boot space. The Alturas G4 also gets a Smart tailgate. Here, you don’t need to wave your foot under the car. Once you approach the tail gate, it automatically senses your presence and opens by itself. Quite a nice touch that.
