Renault launched the 2019 version of its popular SUV, the Duster, today. However, the update is a little more than a mere facelift, in that it features two engine options spanning across nine variants among other tweaks to choose from.

Among the prime movers on offer is a 1.5L petrol engine that makes 106 hp and 142 Nm of torque, mated to 5-speed manual or 6-step CVT gearbox. The other engine on offer is a 1.5L turbocharged diesel that is available in two states of tune. The first example is an 85 hp / 200 Nm unit that is available in a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The other case is the 110 hp / 245 Nm unit that has a 6-speed manual and an AMT to choose from.

In terms of design, there are several revisions to the interior and exterior, as was seen in the spy shots. The Duster now sports a sculpted bonnet upfront with chrome embellishments to the front grille. There is extensive use of cladding to impart an aggressive stance to the car. Featuring for the first time are a redesigned LED headlamp cluster with DRLs, new alloy wheels and a blue colour scheme, never seen before on a Duster. A higher bonnet line, new design elements on the bumper, and prominent skid plates are also an addition.

The interior gets all-new fabric seats, a new steering wheel, an updated infotainment system equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and various embellishments such as piano black pieces. Also interesting is the inclusion of a strip on the dashboard that is painted in the same colour as the exterior.
