The 2020 BMW X1 facelift has launched in india with prices starting at Rs. 35.90 lakh ex showroom. The updated model gets BS VI compliant petrol and diesel engines as well as some styling changes. It will be available in three variants – the new SportX, xLine and M Sport.

The 2.0 four cylinder petrol engine puts out 192 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, while the 2.0 four cylinder diesel motor develops 190 horses and 400 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to an eight speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The X1 is now two wheel drive only.

The BMW X1 now gets a larger signature front grille, just like the other models in the BMW portfolio. There are restyled front and rear bumpers along with new design alloy wheels. The headlamps and tail lamps get a redesign and are now all LED units.

The feature list includes new upholstery, a 8.8 inch screen for the infotainment system,  with iDrive Controller and Navigation with touch functionality, wireless Apple CarPlay, optional wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety features include six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor.  

BMW is offering best in segment: 5 yrs / 60,000 kms service, maintenance and warranty with a special limited period offer starting Rs. 15,000 per year.

The BMW X1 rivals the Audi Q3, Volvo XC40 and soon to launch all new Mercedes-Benz GLA.
