The 2020 Mahindra Thar has been launched with prices starting at Rs. 9.80 lakh all India ex showroom for the entry level manual variant. Bookings for the new Thar are now open.

The new Mahindra Thar is available in two trim levels: AX and LX. While the AZ is more focussed to want a hardcore off-roader, the LX is the lifestyle trim which is for those who will want to drive the Thar as an everyday car and go for off-road excursions on the weekend.

The AX comes with a fixed soft top, 16 inch white steel wheels, mechanical locking differential, roll cage, dual airbags and parking sensors as standard. The LX trim gets all the creature comforts like 7 inch touchscreen infotainment, power windows, central locking, electric mirrors, cruise control, 18 inch alloy wheels,  roof mounted speakers, Adventure Connect off-road display  and an automatic gearbox

The 2020 Mahindra Thar comes with an all new range of engines. The petrol engine is a 2.0 litre turbo unit from the new mStallion family. It produces 150 hp and 300 Nm (320 Nm for automatic) of torque.

The diesel engine is a 2.2 litre M-Hawk unit that develops 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Both engines come with the option of a six speed manual or a six speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.

Safety features include dual airbags, ABS, ESP with Roll over Mitigation, Hill Hold, Hill Descent control and ISOFIX for child seats.

The new Mahindra Thar comes in six colours: Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, Rocky Beige and Aquamarine.

Deliveries begin from November 1st 2020
