2021 Jeep Compass Interior

Step inside and you realise where biggest change in the 2021 Jeep Compass lies. It’s in the interior. So much so, that you feel it is from an all new generation model. The dashboard is all new and gets a multilayered layout with leather and double stitching. There is a new 10.2 inch digital instrument cluster which is customizable with a multiple number of displays. Very crisp and easy to read as well. There is a nice mix of chrome and piano black surfaces and even the quality of buttons and switches is premium. The centre console is also all new and wider than before. There is a wireless smartphone charger up front along with a Type C and regular USB slot. The rotary dial for the 4×4 system has now been replaced by a toggle switch and that looks quite nice. Buttons for 4wd lock. 4wd low and Hill Descent Control are located near the gear lever. There are a couple of large cup holders as well. The new three spoke steering wheel feels premium and thankfully there are no blank buttons on this one. Other features include a sweet sounding Alpine music system, 360 degree camera, dual zone climate control, panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats.

The seats are similar to the pre-facelift Compass and are as comfortable as earlier. The front seats also get electric adjust along with memory function. Space at the rear is adequate. There is enough legroom and headroom and even under thigh support is good thanks to the longer seat base. The back rest has a nice recline angle as well.

2021 Jeep Compass UConnect5

The highlight of the 2021 Jeep Compass is the new 10.1 inch touch screen that comes with the new Uconnect5 infotainment. It sits nicely in the centre and feels like a tab. It also gets a nice chrome surround. It features wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto along with connected car features via the Jeep Life smartphone app. Some of these features include unlocking / locking doors, Vehicle Health Report, geo fencing, Stolen Vehicle Assist, Safety Service feature in case of an accident and Driver Analytics and Trip Analytics. The Uconnect5 can also receive Over The Air updates for the system as well. Screen resolution is impressive, graphics are crisp, the colours are nice and the touchscreen is very slick to use. All it takes is a simple tap. However, the Apple CarPlay did get disconnected by itself abruptly on a couple of occasions, and the music went mute as well once, and came back after I reset the system.
