The 2021 Mercedes GLA has bee launched in India with prices starting at Rs. 42.10 lakh for the GLA200 petrol. Prices for the GLA220d start at Rs. 43.70 lakh ex showroom. The car maker has also launched the AMG GLA35 4Matic priced at Rs. 57.3 lakh ex showroom. The AMG GLA 35 will be locally assembled at the Chakan plant in Pune.

Features on the new GLA include a 10.25inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the MBUX infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It features the ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice command feature, a wireless charger, electric front seats with memory, 64 colour ambient lighting and a large sunroof.

The AMG GLA35 gets features like AMG Exterior package, Supersport steering wheel, Sports seats, 19 inch AMG alloy wheels, Multibeam headlamps, 12 speaker Burmester sound system and AMG Adaptive suspension.

The GLA200 is powered by a 1.3 litre four cylinder turbo petrol developing 163 horsepower and 250 Nm torque. A seven speed dual clutch automatic gearbox sends power to the front wheels.

The GLA220d features a 2.0 four cylinder. diesel engine putting out 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It comes mated to an 8 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and features the option of front wheel drive or 4Matic all wheel drive.

The AMG GLA35 comes with a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine that develops 306 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. The AMG GLA35 is the third AMG model to be locally produced in India.

The new 2021 Mercedes GLA comes with a standard three year warranty and an 8 year warranty on the engine and gearbox.

Rivals to the 2021 Mercedes GLA include the BMW X1, Volvo XC40 and the soon to launch new gen Audi Q3.
