Skoda has announced the launch of a new variant of the Rapid TSI sedan called the Rider Plus. This move comes after the tremendous response for the Rider variant that was launched recently. The Rapid Rider Plus is priced at Rs. 7.99 lakh ex showroom India.
The Skoda Rapid Rider Plus gets a number of cosmetic updates. These include black accents for the front grille, side decals in black, blackened out B pillar, chrome window garnish and lip garnish on the boot lid.
Om the interior, it gets stainless steel scuff plates, ebony sand interior, with premium ivory slate upholstery, 6.5 inch touch screen infotainment with Smartlink tech, Mirror Link, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, it also gets the climatronic system with dust and pollen filters.
The Rapid Rider Plus is powered by a 1.0 three cylinder TSI petrol engine that develops 110 hp and 175 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a six speed manual gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. When compared with the outgoing 1.6 MPI engine, this motor offers a 5% upsurge in power and a 14% rise in torque output.
The safety features of the Rapid Rider Plus includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Parktronic rear parking sensors, anti-glare interior rear view mirror, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front, rough road package, fuel supply cut off in a crash, and engine immobilizer with floating code system.

Škoda had previously introduced India’s first 4 year service care programme (4 year warranty, 4 year road side assistance, and an optional 4 year maintenance package).
The Skoda Rapid Rider Plus is offered in four colours: white, carbon steel, silver and brown.
