The new Audi RS3 has been revealed at the Paris Motor Show. The new car is more powerful than the current RS3 Sportback.
The new Audi RS3 is powered by a 2.5 litre five cylinder TFSI engine that develops 400 horsepower and 480 Nm torque that comes between 1,700 and 5,850 rpm. These figures make this the most powerful five cylinder engine in the world. The car does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in just 4.1 seconds and has a limited top speed of 280 kph. The engine is mated to a seven speed S Tronic dual clutch gearbox and features Audi’s quattro all wheel drive system. The new engine is also 26 kg lighter than its predecessor.
On the exterior, the RS3 gets a 3D honeycomb grille with a prominent quaatro badge. The front bumper has aggressive styling with large air ilets. LED headlamps with daytime running lights are standard, while you LED Matrix headlamps are offered as an option. The wheel arches are flared and compared to the standard A3, the RS3 has front track that is wider by 20 mm.
The rear gets LED tail lamps along with lip spoiler on the boot. There is a rear diffuser with vertical slats and oval shaped exhaust pipes. The Audi RS3 gets the RS spec Nardo gray and Catalunya red paint as an option.
The interior gets Black Nappa leather seats with RS3 logos on the backrests. RS sport seats with integrated head rests are optional. They feature diamond patter design and are perforated. Other features include a flat bottom steering wheel. MMI infotainment system with touchpad with voice control. The centrally positioned driver information system includes a boost pressure indicator, an oil thermometer and a lap timer. The Audi Virtual cockpit with three display options is available as an option. They include a special RS screen that moves the tachometer to the center. On the left and right information appears on tire pressure, torque and g‑forces. When the transmission is operating in manual mode, a scale with a color background prompts the driver to use the steering wheel paddle or selector lever to upshift when approaching maximum revs. The Audi smartphone interface features Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The Audi phone box inductively charges the smartphone according to the Qi standard. The RS3 features a Bang & Olusen sound system with 705 watts and 14 speakers. 
New safety feature includes the traffic jam assist, which briefly takes over the steering in slow-moving traffic up to 65 km/h, the emergency assist, which automatically stops the car if required, and cross traffic assist rear. The latter system looks out for crossing vehicles when pulling out of a parking space.
The Audi RS3 will go on sale next year.
