The Black Shadow edition 220d is the latest offering by the German luxury brand BMW. Based on the M Sport variant of the newly launched 2-Series Gran Coupé, the Black Shadow edition will be limited to a total of 24 units. Interested customers will have to use the BMW India online store to get their hands on this special model. The production of the car will take place locally and the car will go on sale from 7th December. The price of this mode is INR 42.30 Lakh.
Also, the ‘Black Shadow’ kit will be offered later on as an accessory. This implies that the first 24 customers get these accessories at an exclusive price point.
The Black Shadow edition of the 220d Gran Coupé comes with a number of cosmetic changes. The changes include glossy black finishes to various parts of the car. Parts like the front grille, the boot spoiler and mirror caps get this glossy black treatment.
Additionally, the car gets black chrome tailpipes and 18-inch M Performance Y-Spoke Styling 554 M forged wheels, finished in jet black. Another special touch this car gets is the BMW floating hub cap on the wheels. Interestingly, this quirky feature can is found on all Rolls Royce models.
As mentioned, there are no other changes done to the car. It continues to draw power from the tried and tested 2-litre, TwinPower Turbo diesel engine. This motor generates 190 hp of peak power and 400 Nm of twist. Moving further, an 8-speed automatic gearbox sends power to the front wheels. The car comes with a launch control function as well, which takes the car to 100 kmph within 7.5 seconds.
Three driving modes – Eco Pro, Comfort and Sport are on offer. They fine-tune the performance of the engine to suit the needs of the driver. Additionally, the driver to enjoy a number of features. The feature list includes things like gesture control, live cockpit, wireless charging, reverse assistant, ambient lighting and some more.
