The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe has been launched in India at a starting a price of Rs. 39.3 lakh for the Sport Line variant and Rs. 41.4 lakh for the M-Sport variant. The 2-Series Grand Coupe will be produced locally at the BMW Chennai Plant.

The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe gets the new version of the BMW kidney grille upfront. There are slim double barrel LED headlamps along with an aggressively styled front bumper. The side reveals the coupe style sloping roof line and its gets frameless doors. L shaped LED tail lamps complete the rear. The 2 Series Gran Coupé measures 4,526 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,420 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. While the Sport line gets 17 inch alloy wheels, the M-Sport comes with 18 inch alloys.

On the interior the 2-Series Gran Coupe features a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster with BMW Live Cockpit, 10.25 inch touch screen for the iDrive infotainment, Gesture Control, Wireless charging, ambient lighting with six dimmable designs, illuminated trim, a segment-first, retains normal appearance in daylight but functions as decorative lighting elements with a space-shaping effect in the dark, Wireless Apple CarPlay, Sports seats up front and 430 litres of boot space.

The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe is powered by a BS VI compliant 2.0 litre twin turbo diesel engine that develops 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 7.5 seconds and the engine comes mated to an eight speed steptronic sport automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. A petrol version will be launched at a later date.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and ISOFIX.
