The BMW 220i Gran Coupe M Sport has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 40.90 lakh. The diesel version of the 2-Series Gran Coupe, the 220d was launched late last year.

The BMW 220i Gran Coupe M Sport is powered by a 2.0 litre twin turbo petrol engine that develops 190 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 7.1 seconds and the engine comes mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox sending power to the front wheels.

The features list of the BMW 220i Gran Coupe M Sport include a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25 touch screen for the iDrive infotainment system, LED auto headlamps, auto wipers cruise control, auto climate control, electric front sport seats, frameless doors, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof 18 inch M alloy wheels, sporty bumpers, M badges on the fenders and ambient lighting.

The safety kit comprises of six airbags, ABS, Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), side impact protection and ISOFIX.

The BMW 220i Gran Coupe M Sport will be locally produced at the BMW plant in Chennai. It will rival the upcoming Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine and the new gen Audi A3 sedan.
