BMW 3-Series Gran Limousine Engine & Performance

Engines options are the same as the regular 3-Series. The test car 320Ld features the 2.0 twin turbo diesel motor that develops 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine has smooth power delivery and is quick off the line. Refinement levels are top notch as well. There is enough punch across the rev range and you never feel underpowered. The 8 speed ZF automatic gearbox is very responsive and shifts are quick. BMW claims a 0 to 100 kph timing of 7.6 seconds. Even when you need to overtake, just tap the pedal and the 3 Gran Limousine surges forward with enthusiasm. You get three driving modes: Eco Pro, Comfort and Sport.

BMW 3-Series Gran Limousine Ride & Handling

The BMW 3 Gran Limousine has a slightly raised ride height and a softer suspension setup. This results in fantastic ride quality and the car just glides over undulations and bad roads. The 17 inch alloy wheels also help. It however feels less agile when going into corners and there is more body roll than in the standard 3 sedan, but it definitely feels better turning into corners than the 3 GT that it replaces. And the car feels very stable at any speeds in a straight line. Braking power is excellent as well.
