Volkswagen India has launched BS VI compliant variants of the Polo hatchback and the Vento sedan. This update sees the discontinuation of the 1.5 litre TDI diesel, 1.6 MPI petrol, 1.2 litre TSI and the 7 speed DSG gearbox from the model range range.
The Polo Trendline, Comfortline and Highline will come with a 1.0 three cylinder NA petrol engine mated to a new 6 speed manual gearbox . The Polo Highline and the GT versions of the Polo will now come with a 1.0 litre TSI motor that puts out 110 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque. The engine will come with the choice of a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The Vento sedan also gets the 1.0 TSI engine in the same spec as the Polo. However only the Highline and Highline Plus will come with the 6 speed autobox.
The Polo and Vento now feature heat insulating glass, which maintains the cabin temperature.
