Japanese carmaker Datsun has launched the facelift for their Redigo hatchback. One of the popular offerings in the entry-level hatchback segment, the facelift model comes with a number of cosmetic changes and two, BS-VI compliant petrol engines. Additionally, the car gets two more colour options, blue and brown, giving customers a total of six colours to choose from. The prices, depending on the variant range from INR 2.83 Lakh to INR 4.77 Lakh. Listed below are the prices of all the variants, do bear in mind that these are ex-showroom prices.

  • Redigo 0.8 T – INR 3.80 Lakh
  • Redigo 0.8 T (O) – INR 4.16 Lakh
  • Redigo 1.0 T (O) – INR 4.44 Lakh
  • Redigo 1.0 T (O) AMT – INR 4.77 Lakh

Coming to the changes, the facelifted Redigo now comes with a number of design changes, at both the front and rear end of the car. The headlights are now slimmer and come with L-shaped LED DRLs. The fog lamps too are now illuminated by LEDs. Although the car does not come with alloy wheels even in the top trim, the dual-tone wheel covers imitate the appearance of them. With these revisions, the car now will comply with the new crash test and pedestrian safety norms. On the inside, a new 8-inch touchscreen is offered, with Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity.

While the engines are same as before, they have been updated to BS-VI norms, leading to a marginal drop in fuel economy figures. The Redigo 0.8, offering 54 hp and 72 Nm is now rated to return 20.71 kmpl. On the other hand, the 68 hp/91 Nm 1-litre engine is rated to return 1.7 kmpl with the manual gearbox and 22 kmpl with the AMT gearbox. With bookings now open, the car is up against the likes of the Renault Kwid, the Maruti Alto and the Maruti S-Presso in the Indian market.
