17Jaguar has confirmed that it will launch the XE sedan at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo.

The Leaping Cat’s entry level sedan will rival the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4 in the Indian market. The XE will be locally produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s facility in Pune and is expected to come with a competitive price tag.

The XE has an all aluminium chassis which will be a first in its segment. Power will come from the new 2.0 litre diesel Ingenium engine that produces 161 bhp. A 2.0 petrol and V6 petrol motor are also expected to join the engine lineup for India.

Jaguar will also showcase the new XF sedan and the F-Pace SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The new XF is actually 7 mm shorter and 3 mm lower than the older car. The wheelbase is 2960 mm which is 51 mm longer than before. It uses aluminium as major component in its construction which makes it 190 kg lighter than its predecessor. On the inside, the new XF gets a new InControl Touch Pro Infotainment system with a 10.2 screen. There is a Bespoke 825W Meridian digital surround sound system with 17 speakers and there is a new 12.3 inch TFT instrument cluster.fpace3Jaguar’s F-Pace was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year and will be present at the 2016 Auto Expo. The F-Pace is based on the C-X17 concept and is built on the Lightweight Aluminium Architecture platform as the XE and XF sedans. It is 4,731 mm long, with a generous 2,874 mm wheelbase. There is a large front grille that is typical Jaguar, a muscular bonnet, full LED headlamps and forged 22 inch alloy wheels.

On the interior,there is space to seat five people in absolute comfort thanks to a lots of headroom and kneeroom. The F-Pace gets the premium InControl Touch Pro  infotainment system that comprises of a 10.2-inch touchscreen, with a powerful quad-core processor and solid-state drive, and runs on ultra-fast Ethernet. Up to eight devices can be connected to the vehicle’s super-fast wifi hotspot at one time. The navigation system offers true door-to-door guidance and can even advise others of your arrival time. Navigation can also be shown full-screen – in 3D – in the 12.3-inch HD virtual instrument cluster.

Other models from JLR’s lineup are also expected to make an appearance at the expo.
