Jaguar has revealed an entry level variant of the F-Type sports car that comes powered by a new four cylinder Ingenium engine.

The 2.0 litre four turbo charged Ingenium engine develops 300 horsepower and 400 Nm of maximum torque. This engine is the most powerful four cylinder engine ever used in a production Jaguar. It also generates the highest specific power output of any engine in the F-TYPE range: 150 horsepower per litre. The car goes from 0 to 100 in just 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox that has been tweaked to work with the four pot motor. The Ingenium engine has reduced the weight of the F-Type by 52 kg. Most of its weight saving comes from over the front axles. The suspension and power steering have also been reworked to suit the weight of the car.

Jaguar says that the four cylinder engine doesnt take away anything from the F-Type’s engine note. The four cylinder car gets an active exhaust as standard, while the R-Dynamic variants feature a switchable active exhaust.Other features include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Speed Limiter and Lane Keep Assist. On the exterior, the latest F-Type gets redesigned bumpers with full LED headlights.  At the rear, th four cylinder car gets a unique single tailpipe finisher to distinguish it from the twin central exhausts and quad outboard exhausts of the V6 and V8 models.

On the interior, the car gets lightweight slimline seats, Touch Pro infotainment system and new chrome, frameless rear view mirror and aluminium trim finishers.
