The Land Rover Defender has been launched in India with prices starting at Rs. 73.98 lakh for the 90 body style and Rs. 79.94 for the 110. Land Rover had announced opening of booking for the Defender earlier this year at a lower price and those who booked during that time period will get the price benefit.

The Land Rover Defender 90 measures 4,583 mm in length, 2,008 mm wide, 1,974 mm in height and has a wheelbase of  2,587mm . The Defender 110, measures 5,018mm in length, 2,008 mm wide,  1,967mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,022 mm.

For India, the Land Rover Defender comes with a 2.0 four cylinder turbo petrol engine that develops 300 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It gets permanent four wheel drive with a locking centre differential and active rear-locking differential and the engine comes mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox. The Defender gets Land Rover’s Terrain Response system and has a water wading depth of 900 mm. More powertrains are expected to be offered in the future.

The New Defender is offered in five different variants across both 90 and 110; Standard, S, SE, HSE and First Edition. Features across the variants include 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, automatic climate control, 360° Surround Camera, Wade Sensing, Electronic Air Suspension (Standard on 110), Smartphone Pack, Connected Navigation Pro, Off-Road tyres, Centre Console with refrigerated compartment (optional). It also also features multiple seating options and accessory packs.

While deliveries for the 110 will begin immediately, the 90 will follow soon.
