Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster Interior

The interior layout is similar to that of the AMG GT Coupe. You sit very slow slung and the seating position is spot on. The cabin is a festival of Nappa leather all around and adds a very premium touch. The flat bottom sports steering wheel feels awesome to hold and the twin pod instrument cluster with a colour MID in the centre adds a sporty touch. There is red contrast stitching all around as well. The centre console is wide and houses a number of buttons including the controller for the infotainment system. What is awkward however, is the placing of the gear selector, which I found to be far behind. The AMG sports seats are comfortable and the bolstering holds you firmly in place. The red accents on the seats also look nice as do the red seat belts. Overall, everything is well put together and there are multiple customization options as well.

Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster Engine & Performance

The Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster is powered by a 4.0 litre bi-turbo V8 engine. This same engine does duty in multiple models across the AMG range is various states of tune. In the Roadster, the motor makes 476 horsepower at 6000rpm with 630 Nm of torque coming from as early as 17000rom. The engine comes to life with a loud growl and stays on the quieter side as you start driving at lower speeds. The AMG sound track kicks in once you start hitting the mid-range and keeps howling till you hit the redline. If that isn’t enough, a touch of a button will switch on the active exhausts and add multiple pops and crackles to the V8 symphonies. Power goes to the rear wheels by a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The shifts are lightning quick and there are drive modes that include Comfort, Sport Sport+ and Individual. These modes alter the throttle response, gearbox, steering and the suspension for optimum performance. The Roadster is very user friendly and there is no doubt that you can use it as a daily driver if you wish to do so.
