The Mercedes-Benz India pavilion had three new models that were the highlights of the Auto Expo 2020. While the carmaker launched the AMG GT four door coupe, the new GLA and A-Class limousine were also showcased.

The Mercedes-AMG GT four door coupe has been launched in India at Rs. 2.42 crore ex showroom. It is powered by a 4.0 litre bi-turbo engine that develops 639 hp and massive 900 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a nine speed gearbox that sends power to all four wheels via the 4Matic all wheel drive system. The car goes from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.2 seconds.

Features of the AMG GT four door coupe include 12.3 inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, MBUX infotainment, new steering and touchpad control on the centre console. It also comes with various customization options for the interior.

The AMG GT four door coupe rivals the Porsche Panamera Turbo in the Indian market.

The all new GLA also made its debut at the Auto Expo 2020 just two months after its international reveal. The new GLA features all mew headlamps and tail lamps, 143 mm of ground clearance, new front grille and new bumpers. It measures 4,410mm in length, 2,020mm in width, and 1,611mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,729mm.

Features of the new GLA include a digital instrument cluster, MBUX infotainment system, sporty steering wheel and touchpad on the centre console.

Engine options include a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that puts out 190hp and 400Nm of torque and the GLA200 could feature petrol engine developing 163 hp mated to a 7 speed automatic gearbox sending power to the front wheels.

Mercedes-Benz also revealed the A-Class limousine in the AMG A35 avtaar. It features a 2.0 litre four cylinder petrol engine that puts out 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque.It goes from 0 to 100 in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph. The engine comes mated to a 7 speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels via the 4Matic all wheel drive system.

Mercedes-Benz announced that the A-Class limousine will launch in India in June 2020 and prices will start at approx Rs. 40 lakh, while the new GLA will launch in October 2020 with prices starting at Rs. 43 lakh. Pre bookings for both models are now open and the car maker is offering a price benefit of Rs. 1 lakh to all those customers pre-booking their cars.
