Mercedes Benz India has been on the offensive with a total of 15 models launching this year. That apart they have also set new sales records as well by registering a 41% year-on-year growth by selling 6659 units in the Jan – June 2015 period. This sales growth also marks the brand’s highest ever Q2 volumes at 3093 units, up by 43%.

We now learn from Autocar India magazine that the three pointed star is planning to add a new variant to its C-Class line up in India; the C450 AMG Sport. This model will sit between the CLA45 AMG and the range topping Mercedes AMG C63..

Powering the C450 AMG Sport will be a 3.0 litre twin turbo V6 turbo engine that develops 363 bhp and 518 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic gearbox and it also gets  4Matic four wheel drive. The car goes from 0 t0 100 kph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph.

On the exterior, the C450 AMG Sport gets a new grille with a different front bumper, dark housings for wing mirrors, bootlip spoiler and darkened exhausts.
