Bookings for the MG Hector SUV have been reopened with effect from September 29, 2019 for a limited period of time.  MG Motor India had temporarily shut bookings after receiving 28,000 orders for the SUV.

The car maker is ramping up production from November by adding a second shift, adding 500 people to their employee count. The current priority waitlist, which stands at 15,000 customers, will be provided the first preference to book the Hector as bookings open.

MG has also announced a price increase of 2.5 % across its variant range translating to a price hike between Rs. 30,000 – to Rs. 40,000 depending on the variant. Customers who had booked MG Hector in the first phase will be protected from the price increase. The ex showroom prices now start from Rs. 12.48 lakh for the base petrol variant and go up to Rs. 17.28 lakh for the range topping diesel.

Bookings can be made on the MG website or across . any MG dealership across the country for a deposit of Rs. 50,000. Current waiting list on the Hector ranges from 4 to 6 months.

Another price hike can be expected when the BS VI norms come into effect in April 2020 when the Hector engines become BS VI compliant.
