The new Volkswagen Passat has been launched in India at Rs. 29.99 lakh for the Comfortline and Rs. 32.99 lakh for the Highline ex showroom Delhi.

Volkswagen Passat details

The Passat features a 2.0 TDI diesel engine that develops 177 horsepower and 350 Nm of maximum torque. The engine comes mated to a six speed DSG automatic gearbox sending power to the rear wheels.

The Passat is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform that underpins the Tiguan SUV and Skoda Octavia, Superb and recently launched Kodiaq SUV. It ways 70 kg less than the previous generation car. The car comes loaded with features such as three zone auto climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, LED headlamps with DRLs, LED tail lamps, hands free parking, panoramic sunroof and 17 inch alloy wheels.

Safety features include 9 airbags,  ABS, ESCHill Start Assist, Auto Hold and Reverse camera with 360⁰ area view.

The Passat is available in six colours – Oryx White Pearl effect, Deep Black Pearl effect, Black Oak Brown Metallic, Pyrit Silver Metallic, Atlantic Blue Metallic and Mangan Grey Metallic.

The Volkswagen Passat goes up against the Skoda Superb, Toyota Camry and Honda Accord in the Indian market.
