Porsche has revealed the 911 Carrera T. The Porsche 911 Carrera T is based on the entry level Carrera model and the T in the name stands for Touring.With this car, Porsche is reviving the puristic concept behind the 911 T of 1968.

On the exterior, the 911 Carrera T comes with a number of distinguishing features. Up front, it features an aerodynamically optimised front spoiler lip, and the Sport Design exterior mirrors painted in Agate Grey Metallic.  There are “911 Carrera T” logos on the side and the car comes shod with 20 inch Carrera S alloy wheels finished in Titan Grey. At the rear it gets redesigned slats on the engine cover, “911 Carrera T” badging in Agate Grey and centrally mounted tail pipes finished in black. The car comes with a sports exhaust as standard. Exterior colour options are Black, Lava Orange, Guards Red, Racing Yellow, White and Miami Blue, as well as the metallic colours Carrara White, Jet Black and GT Silver.

Inside, the 911 Carrera T gets black, four-way, electric sports seats with a seat centre in Sport-Tex fabric, while the headrests feature a “911” logo stitched in black. Full bucket seats can also be ordered as an option. There is a GT sports steering wheel with leather rim with the driving mode button, and shortened shift lever with shift pattern in red is exclusive to the Carrera T. The dashboard and doors are black, as are the door opening loops. The T can also be ordered with an interior package in  Racing Yellow, Guards Red or GT Silver. These colours can be used on the seat belts, the “911” logo on the headrests, the door opening loops or the centres of the Sport-Tex seats.

The 911 Carrera T is powered by the same turbocharged 3.0-litre horizontally opposed six-cylinder petrol engine seen in the standard 911 Carrera. It develops 370 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.5 seconds. The engine comes mated to a seven speed manual gearbox as standard. A PDK dual clutch transmission will be offered as an option. With the PDK the 0 to 100 kph sprint is done in 4.2 seconds. Porsche claims a top speed of 290 kph for the Carrera T.The 911 Carrera T features a lightweight construction.  The rear window and rear side windows are made from lightweight glass and the door trims feature opening loops. The sound absorption has been largely reduced. The rear seats have been omitted along with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM), though both are still available on request at no additional cost. The car is 20 kg lighter than the standard 911 Carrera.
