The Jaguar F-Pace is the first SUV to carry the leaping cat logo. Ever since its launch a couple of years back, its popularity has been growing. The SVR variant of this SUV has been the flagship model, featuring the iconic 5-litre supercharged V8 engine of the brand. Now out in a new avatar, this updated F-Pace SVR is indeed a wild cat that is ready to pounce on any piece of tarmac it confronts.

Standing outside, visually, there are not many differences in the 2021 F-Pace SVR. Those who have an eye for detail will notice the revised headlamp design, which is now slimmer and the DRLs look new too. There also are some new trim pieces around the front inlets. Jaguar claims that they have managed to further improve the cooling performance for the powertrain and brakes with some minor tweaks.

A few more changes can be seen on the inside of the performance-oriented SUV. The centre console now holds a larger, 11.4-inch touchscreen. This replaces the 10-inch touchscreen unit that came earlier. The gearshift selector is new too, so are the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.

F-Pace SVR rear

The power steering, the adaptive suspension and the brake pads have been changed in the latest iteration of the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. However, the change that we all would appreciate is done to the powertrain. The iconic 5-litre supercharged V8 motor now develops 550 hp and 700 Nm. While the power figure is unchanged, the twisting force is up by 20 Nm. The 8-speed automatic gearbox is new too, borrowed the XE SV Project 8 sedan.
The result – a 0 to 100 kmph time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 286 kmph. To compare, the older Jaguar F-Pace SVR took 4.1 seconds to reach the ton and had a top speed of 281 kmph.

The car has been gaining popularity in India too. In its regular petrol and diesel avatars, the car has a number of German rivals. There is no news on the arrival of this SVR version of this SUV to make its way to India. You can, however, get your hands on its competitors like the Porsche Macan Turbo and the BMW X3 M.
