Toyota has discontinued sales of the Etios sedan, Liva hatchback and the Corolla Altis in India. This move comes after the move to the BS6 emission norms from April 1st 2020.

The Etios models were specifically developed for India. While the Etios went on sale in 2010, the Liva hatchback followed in 2011. Upgrading the engines to meet the stringent BS^ norms would have been too expensive to justify volumes for the model.

Toyota has also discontinued the Corolla Altis sedan in India. While a new model is now available globally, it will not come to India. A total of 1,16,500 units of the Corolla Altis have been sold in the Indian market since the model was first launched in the country. Will sales dropping recently, the car maker has decided to withdraw the model from India.

Toyota will continue to cater to all Etios series & Corolla Altis customers’ needs through Toyota service outlets across the country along with the promise of availability of Toyota genuine spare parts for the discontinued models.

With both, the Toyota Corolla Altis and Skoda Octavia discontinued, the executive sedan segment in the Indian market  only comprises of the Honda Civic and the Hyundai Elantra.
