The Audi A4 has been the bread and butter model in India for the Ingolstadt car maker for a long time now. It has been a volume driver and its absence from the portfolio over a while did have an impact on sales. After launching the A6, Q8, a couple of RS models and the more recent Q2 in, Audi is beginning the new year with a bang with the 2021 A4 sedan and there are many more models to follow. While it is a facelift and not an all new generation, it is a comprehensive update. And it gets a new engine too. Read on.

2021 Audi A4 Exterior

The B8 generation Audi A4 that first went on sale in India is still my favourite A4 design. I was never really a fan of what came later but I quite like what I see in this 2021 updated model. The car is also wider and longer than before but the wheelbase is unchanged. The front grille is wide and looks classy with those horizontal chrome slats. The LED headlamps are new and feature daytime running lamps that resemble eyelashes, while the bonnet has a bulge that gives a muscular stance. On the side, the character crease lines are present only on the front and rear fenders while the doors have a smooth finish. The ORVMs are mounted on the doors and there are 5 spoke 17 inch alloy wheels. The design isnt outright sporty but they suit the A4 well. The rear gets new slim tail lamps with fine LED detailing. There is a boot lip spoiler with the 40TSI badging on the right, along with brushed aluminum elements on the rear  bumper. To summarize, the A4 does look balanced and understated, what it has stood for all these years and surely better than the model it replaces.
