Known to make driver-focussed, great handling cars, the German automotive brand BMW has recently unveiled the facelifted 5-series and 6-series GT. Currently, on sale in the Indian market across various trim levels and multiple engine options in the pre-facelift avatar, these two cars have indeed been two popular cars. Currently, the 5-series retails for a price between INR 55.40 Lakh to INR 68.40 Lakh, while the 6 GT ranges from INR 64.90 Lakh to INR 75.90 Lakh. With a number of changes offered in the facelifted models, expect BMW to launch them in the Indian market soon. Read ahead to find out what is new in these updated models.

On the exterior, the new 5-series comes with redesigned bumpers at both ends which not only make the car longer but in conjunction with the active flaps, have also reduced the drag coefficient. Additionally, the headlamp assembly is new, with L-shaped DRLs and turn indicators. The tail light assembly has also been changed to give the rear end a better appearance. The grille is also new, which, unlike its siblings, has not gained much in size. The trapezoidal tailpipes complete the whole sporty look of the car. On the inside, the new 5-series gets the latest generation of the iDrive infotainment system, with dual 12.3-inch displays. The 6-GT also sports similar changes as the 5-series sedan but in a different body style.

The engines remain unchanged, but the international models will come with hybrid technology, courtesy of a 48 Volt battery. In the Indian market, BMW offers one petrol and 2 diesel engines to choose from with these cars. The options include the 30i petrol motor offering 252 hp of power, the 20d diesel mill offering 190 hp and the drool-worthy 30d oil-burner offering 265 hp. Expect these three engines to power the upcoming facelift models as well when launched in early 2021.
