The BMW X3 xDrive30i SportX has been launched in India at Rs 56.50 lakh ex showroom. The new variant will be locally produced at the BMW Chennai plant.

Power comes from a 2.0 litre four cylinder. twin turbo petrol engine that develops 252 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via the XDrive all wheel drive system. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed 6.3 seconds.

Features of the SportX variant include LED headlamps and tail lamps, 5.1 inch digital instrument cluster, 8.8 inch touch screen infotainment, Android Auto Apple CarPlay, three zone auto climate control, 18 inch alloy wheels, auto headlamps and wipers, 3D Navigation etc.

The safety kit includes six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor and ISOFIX.

The rivals of the BMW X3 include the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Volvo XC60, Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Jaguar F-Pace.
