Hyundai Venue 1.0 GDI petrol DCT Interior

The interior of the Hyundai Venue appears fresh and has a nice design. It has an all black finish that I love, though dual tone beige would have given the cabin an airy feel. The steering wheel is finished in leather and features contrast white stitching. It is thick and feels nice to hold. It gets controls for the audio, MID and cruise control. While the buttons have a good finish, those on the Mahindra XUV300 feel a little better. Another downer is that the steering only has tilt adjust. The centre console features an 8-inch touch screen infotainment that sits flush between the AC vents. Touch response is good and clarity is nice as well. It also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. But my favourite is still the fantastic screen on the Ford Ecosport. The infotainment screen also gets a set of physical buttons. The IRVM comes with three buttons, SOS to call Hyundai Customer Care, the tow truck button to call Roadside Assistance and the third to activate Bluelink. Inspite of all this tech, something basic like the auto dimming feature is missing. The round AC controls are have a good finish and there are two USB ports and a power outlet as well. Below that, you get a wireless charging pad.  The instrument cluster is easy to read and has an MID in the centre. Plastic quality is good in majority of places but could have been better in some like the power window switches. The AC vents get silver surround that add a nice contrast to the black dash. This variant also doesn’t get a sliding front arm rest. It does come with an electric sunroof though.

Hyundai calls the Venue the first Connected SUV, and it comes with BlueLink connectivity. It features an eSim with a 4G connection from Vodafone IDEA connected to Hyundai’s cloud servers. The Bluelink App can be installed on your smartphone to control various vehicle functions. The whole list of functions is available in the gallery section below.

Front seats are comfortable and supportive with bolstering. They get fabric upholstery with contrast white stitching. The rear seats are comfortable too but are suitable only for two occupants due to the width. Legroom is just about ok though, and this SX variant misses out on a central armrest with cup holders. Rear passengers get AC vents and a power socket. The high window could make things uncomfortable for short occupants though.
