Electric cars are coming, and coming fast. Sure, they are a long way from becoming mainstream and our charging infrastructure still leaves a lot to be desired, but that hasn’t stopped manufacturers from launching EVs in the market. And Tata Motors is doing just that. And what better way to go electric than with the hugely popular Nexon compact SUV. Its a well rounded package and SUVs are a favourite with the Indian buyer. There couldn’t be a better candidate. So here it is. The Tata Nexon EV. Will it be fun to drive? Will it be practical? Time to answer these questions.

Tata Nexon EV Exterior

Tata Motors has debuted the facelift for the Nexon with the EV. This avatar will also be seen in the regular IC engined Nexon as well. The Nexon was already a great looking compact SUV and the styling updates have added a lot more character. There is a new front fascia with a flatter, upright bonnet that conforms to pedestrian safety norms. There are nicely sculpted headlamps that are projector units with integrated daytime running LEDs. The front grille has a piano black finish and the redesigned front bumper gets star elements finished in the EV Blue shade. The design remains largely similar from the side. What you do get is new design 16-inch alloy wheels, blue accents on the shoulder line and an EV badge on the front fender. The rear also gets blue accents, a redesigned bumper and a Ziptron badge on the tail gate. The tail lamps are identical to the pre facelift model but gets new design elements inside, which look smart. And the Signature Teal Blue paint shade that you see in these pictures is exclusive to the Nexon EV. Other colours on offer are Moonlit Silver and Glacier White.
