The Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5 door has officially made it global debut at the Auto Expo 2023. The India launch will happen in May later this year followed by the rest of the world.

The 5 door Jimny measures 3,985 mm in length, has a width of 1,645mm and a height of 1,720mm. It has a wheelbase of 2,590mm, making it 340mm longer than the 3-door model. Overall design is pretty similar to the 3 door version. The boxy and butch styling is sure to find appeal with those who love rugged SUVs. The Jimny comes with 15 inch alloys and 195/80 section tyres.

The interior is also similar to the 3 door model. While it is not plush, it is functional and feels built to last. There is a 9.0 touch screen high mounted in the centre, and a grab handle on the dashboard. Front power window switches are located on the centre console while rear ones are between the seats. The 4×4 gear lever is also located in the centre. Features in the Maruti SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car play, Arkamys sound system, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with hill hold assist, hill descent control and rear-view camera.

The Jimny will be powered by the older K15B series petrol engine. The 1.5 litre motor puts out 105 hp and 134 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic gearbox.

The Jimny features the Suzuki All Grip Pro 4×4 system featuring a manual transfer case. The Jimny 5-door has an approach angle of 36-deg, breakover angle of 24-deg, departure angle of 50-deg and a ground clearance of 210mm.

Bookings for the Jimny have been officially opened and the prices will be announced in May 2023.
