Mercedes-Benz EQC400 4Matic Charging

Coming to charging solutions, the Mercedes-Benz EQC400 will come with a charger that can be plugged into any 3.4kWh home socket, that will take 21 hours for a full charge. Alternatively, Mercedes will come and install a 7.4kWh wall box charger at your residence or office. With this, you can get a full charge in 10 hours. Lastly, Mercedes is planning to set up a network of 50kWh DC fast chargers at various locations across the country. With the DC charger, the EQC can be fully charged in just 90 minutes. You could actually get quick  top up charge while grabbing a snack at a food court during a journey. As mentioned earlier, locations of chargers will be available in the EQ menu of the MBUX system.

Mercedes-Benz EQC400 4Matic Ride, Handling & Safety

As far as the ride quality goes, the EQC is pretty comfortable at normal driving speeds. However small undulations do filter into the cabin and there is some vertical movement at higher speeds. The steering feels light and precise and has a nice weight to it. Being an SUV that weighs almost 2.5 tonnes, there is noticeable body roll when turning into sharp corners. A big issue with the EQC is the poor ground clearance. And with the battery mounted below, it is a concern. The EQC ended up hitting most speed bumps during the drive. Many a times, I had to literally crawl sideways over the speed bumps to ensure it doesn’t hit the under floor, but even then, I failed on some occasions. I have gone sideways over speed bumps when driving low slung super cars, but doing that with an SUV was a first. You have to extra careful with those deep potholes too.

The safety kit on the EQC400 includes 7 airbags, PRE-SAFE, ESP, Active Brake Assist, Attention Assist and Blind Spot Assist.
