The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet has made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2016. This is the first convertible from the Mercedes-Maybach brand and will be limited to only 300 units worldwide.
Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet is based on the open-top S‑Class. Exterior features include a new front bumper with a restyled lower section and chrome accents. The is a prominent Maybach logo on the front fenders. The car comes with 20‑inch Maybach forged alloy wheels. On opening the doors, the Maybach logo is projected onto the floor.
The interior of the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet takes design cues from the Concept S‑Class Coupe show car. The seat upholstery has a waterfall like layout. There is outer diamond quilting on the seat side bolsters and the Budapest piping. The car features trim elements in designo nut brown magnolia – either with flowing lines or in a high-gloss finish. Nine additional interior colour concepts are offered for more individualisation, from pastel yellow/black to porcelain/saddle brown. Mercedes-Maybach logos are embroidered on the front side of the seats, on the back of the headrests, and also inlaid in the stowage cover of the centre console. Other features include deep-pile floor mats, chrome-plated “1 of 300” lettering on the cup holder, and the steering wheel features Maybach lettering on the lower bezel. All optional equipment of the S‑Class Cabriolet comes as standard on the Mercedes-Maybach, including AIRCAP, AIRSCARF and Swarovski headlamps.
The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet gets an exclusive travel luggage set from MAYBACH – ICONS OF LUXURY. “THE AFFINITY” set comprises two large travel bags as well as two lifestyle bags made of original vehicle leather. The colour of the travel bag set matches the interior trim that is selected by the customer for the car. The set is tailor made to match the car and can be securely attached to each other with straps to enable optimum use of the space in the boot.
Every Mercedes-Maybach Cabriolet gets a car cover made of high-quality fabric in the soft top colour, with diamond quilting and embroidered Maybach emblem and lettering on the bonnet.
Additionally, each Mercedes-Maybach Cabriolet is delivered with a special welcome pack. This comprises of a key ring made of the nappa leather used in the vehicle and in the interior colour, with Maybach emblem and “1 of 300” lettering, as well as a certificate signed by Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.
The car is powered by a 6.0 litre bi-turbo V12 engine that develops 630 horsepower between 4800 to 5400 rpm and 1000 Nm of max torque between 2300-4300 rpm. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph. The engine is mated to a 7G-Tronic gearbox that drives the rear wheels.
