Coming to the engines, the Porsche Panamera is the first to get the new 2.9 litre V6 turbocharged and 4.0 litre twin turbocharged petrol motors. The turbos in these engines are mounted centrally into the V of the cylinder banks.
The Panamera 4S comes with the new turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 that develops 440 horsepower at 5650rpm and 550 Nm of torque between 1750rpm-5500rpm. This propelsthe car from 0 to 100kph in 4.2 seconds (when equipped with the Sport Chrono package) and to a top speed of 290kph.
The Panamera Turbo with the 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine comes with 550 horsepower at 5750rpm and 770 Nm torque between 1960rpm and 4500rpm. With the Sport Chrono package, it goes from 0 to 100 kph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 306 kph.
The Porsche Panamera 4S diesel is the first Panamera to get a V8 cylinder diesel engine. It develops 422 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and a whopping 850 Nm of torque between 1,000 to 3.250 rpm. It reaches the 100 kph speed mark in 4.5 seconds (4.3 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package). It has a top speed of 284 kph making it the world’s fastest production vehicle with a diesel engine.
