The Tata Tigor EV has been launched at a starting price of Rs.11.99 lakh ex showroom. It will be available in three variants: XE, XM and XZ+.

The new Tigor EV features a 26 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack that powers a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor developing 75 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque. It has an ARAI certified range of 306 kms. Tata Motors claims a 0 to 60 kph timing of 5.7 seconds. The battery pack and electric motor both have an IP 67 rating. Tata is offering an 8year/1,60,000 km warranty on the battery and electric motor.

The new Tigor EV is compatible with globally acceptable CCS2 charging protocol and can be fast charged as well as slow charged from any 15 A plug point. It can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in one hour using a fast charger, while home charging will take 8.5 hours for the same.

On the exterior, the Tigor EV looks similar to the Tigor facelift introduced lat year. The front grille is replaced by a glossy black panel and there are blue highlights all around the car. The new design 15 inch alloy wheels also get blue accents.

The interior is also similar to the ICE powered Tigor but here too it gets blue accents all over the cabin. As far as features go, the Tigor EV gets a 7 inch HARMAN touch screen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, multi function steering wheel, auto climate control etc.

The Tigor EV gets IRA connected car tech with more than 30 connected car features like remote commands, intrusion alert, remote cooling, charging status, time to full charge and remote diagnostics.

Safety features include Dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability Control and Hill ascent assist & Hill descent assist. The Tigor EV has scored four stars in the Global NCAP safety tests.
