Tata Tigor EV Verdict

The regular Tigor starts at 5.5 lakhs ex-showroom and the  start price of Tigor EV is 11.99 lakhs and goes upto 12.99 lakhs. EV is clearly for someone who has high running. The cost per kilometer isn’t justified if the running is low. May be a more aggressive price range would multiply the switch? We would surely recommend the Tigor EV for city use. With real world range of 200 kms, this car is perfect as daily driver. There would still be range anxiety when hitting the highway, reason being charging infra there still have as long way to go.

The Tigor EV is Tata’s entry level EV. Period. But for couple of lakhs more you can get the more powerful, spacious SUV, Nexon EV. We feel Tigor EV may face some heat due to priced very close to elder EV brother.

Tata Tigor EV makes a great case for itself though. It rides well; space is decent, nice electric motor. The size is ideal to move around in the city. The 3 year/125,000 kms warranty on the vehicle and 8 year/160,000 kms warranty on the battery pack and motor warranty suggest Tigor EV is a long lasting product. Tata also manufactures electric commercial buses for various states across India. The EV tech isn’t limited to passenger cars. This gives a lot of confidence in the EV tech used and gives Tata the first mover advantage in EV vehicles execution over competitors.

So if you are looking go green and want a daily driver that is easy to drive, well loaded with features and a smooth performer, not to mention safe, the Tata Tigor makes a strong case for itself. It’s the perfect way to begin Evolving to Electric for the future.
