Tata Tigor EV Interior

Get inside and things are familiar space to the regular Tigor this time around as well. The first thing you’ll notice is the missing gear lever. Since, there are no gears in this EV, a rotary drive selector replaces the lever. The gear selector is a little fidgety to use, and takes time getting used to. You have to pass through Neutral to move to Reverse from Drive and vice versa. There is a slight two second lag before each mode gets engaged as well. It tends to get irritating at times. The other eye-catching factor is the all-digital display. The display has a nice digital speed readout in the middle, usual lights, battery level indicator like cellphone style, driving style indicator, range indicator and battery consumption readout. Encircling these is the RPM stlye digital meter; it even goes red in sports mode. On the right, it’s the battery indicator followed by regen meter. The EV blue highlights on the dash and a new fabric design are found on the EV.  The tri-arrow upholstery looks good. In the infotainment section,  the Tigor EV gets 7” screen by Harman, covers most of the modern day requirements including Apple Car Play and Android Auto.  The Harman speaker system consists of 4 speakers and 4 tweeters. The screen also offers reverse camera with guidelines. The EV gets a flat bottom steering wheel that is nice to hold, and has the telephony buttons, mute, toggle, and volume buttons.

The seats at both, the front and the rear are comfortable. The rear has adequate headroom and kneeroom and the backrest has a nice recline angle. The centre armrest gets two cupholder. An important point to note is the boot space of the Tigor EV is reduced from 419 litres to 316 litres. That’s mainly because of the battery pack placed under the floor eats up the space for the spare wheel. So, the spare wheel is now part of the boot.
