When it comes to Indian market, it has been the Innova and the Fortuner which have been the best sellers for Toyota, no two ways about it. The Corolla Altis is no longer available and the Etios twins didn’t really set the sales charts on fire, even though they were reliable products. The global Toyota-Suzuki partnership has helped the car maker to re-enter the lower volume segments again with the first product being the Glanza in 2019, which was essentially a rebadged Baleno. What you see here is the second model from the alliance, the Toyota Urban Cruiser derived from the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Exterior

So what’s different in the Urban Cruiser? Well, it does have some styling bits that distinguishes it from the Vitara Brezza. The LED headlamps and the bonnet are identical to the Brezza, but the front grille is Fortuner inspired, and looks nice and sporty with its twin horizontal slat layout. The front bumper gets redesigned fog lamp housings with honey comb mesh and the air dam sits in the centre. From the side, it is exactly identical to its Maruti counterpart right down to the alloy wheels. The only differentiator are the logos on the wheel caps. At the rear, the chrome bar above the number plate features the Urban Cruiser lettering and the cladding on the rear bumper is different from that of the Brezza.
