The Triumph Speed Twin has been been launched in India at a price of Rs. 9.46 lakh ex showroom. It is the latest model in Triumph’s Modern Classic range and the name is inspired from the 1938 Speed Twin 5T.

The Triumph Speed Twin is powered by an updated version of the 1200cc parallel twin engine that also does duty on the Thruxton developing 97 hp at 6,750rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,950rpm. The engine comes mated to a six speed gearbox and gets a revised clutch assembly. There are three riding modes available: Rain, Road and Sport.

The Triumph Speed Twin is lighter than the Thruxton by 10 kg and gets a reworked chassis and suspension. The Speed Twin is the lightest of the Modern Classic range of bikes. It gets high specification cartridge front forks and twin rear suspension units with adjustable spring pre-load; high specification Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres, twin Brembo 4-piston axial calipers on the front with twin discs, and a 2-piston floating caliper and single disc on the rear.

The Triumph Speed Twin is available in 3 colours; Jet Black, Korasi Red and Storm Grey, Silver Ice and Storm Grey.
