Volvo V40 launched in India at Rs.24.75 lakh

Volvo has launched the V40 hatchback in India at a price of Rs. 24.75 lakh ex showroom Delhi. Volvo already sells the V40 Cross Country in India.

The V40 looks similar to its Cross Country sibling but loses out on body cladding and comes with lower ground clearance. It comes in two trim levels: Kinetic and R-Design.

The V40 is powered by the 2.0 D3 4 cylinder engine that develops 147.5 bhp and 350 Nm torque driven by the front wheels. The engine is mated to a six speed automatic gearbox.

Like all Volvos, both the V40 trims come loaded with safety features as standard like City Safe, ABS, traction control, front, side, curtain and pedestrian airbags. Other features include dual zone climate control, power front seats with memory function, panoramic sunroof, park assist pilot, mood lighting and parking sensors.

The V40 will be sold in India as a CBU and will rival the Mercedes Benz A Class and BMW X1.
