I woke early even though we were starting late and took this chance to walk around the hotel. It has a lovely lake view which couldn’t be seen at night and there was nothing more blissful than sitting with a cup of coffee facing the lake. The hotel offered boat rides to those who were interested. We set off for Jaisalmer post lunch but not before a group photo. The drive to Jaisalmer had the convoy spreading out on few occasions but bunching up quickly. We took one fuel stop and two chai breaks on the way. The final kms to Jaisalmer was post sunset and the tail lights of the XUV700s looked nothing short of a constellation against the night sky. The Bolero Neo cruised along in 6th gear with Jasleen Royal and B Praak hooning Ranjha from the speakers. The song went on repeat mode a few times with me and Rohit humming the lyrics as we finally entered Jaisalmer. We checked into the Gorbandh Palace which would be our abode for the next 3 nights. And again it was long walk to our room. Had a quick shower and headed to the lawns for dinner, folk songs and a puppet show. Retired to the room soon after, as the next day was to be action packed. We were going to go dune bashing.
